An animation project for the song "New Rose" by The Damned.
The first step was selecting the music video footage for my animation. I chose a 1976 live performance by The Damned. Using Adobe Photoshop, I created a storyboard by tracing screenshots from the video. This helped me visualize the animation process before beginning rotoscoping.
I traced video frames to match the music's fast-paced energy, opting for a scratchy aesthetic. Although the process was tedious, it was rewarding to see the animation take shape.
After completing over 900 individual frames, the project was ready for presentation. Despite not reaching the desired length, I'm proud of what I achieved, especially as it was my first animation project.
